How Ink Vial Works

From browsing to your letterbox - trying a new ink has never been this easy or this low-risk.

Four Steps to Your Perfect Ink

No subscriptions, no minimum orders, no commitment - just great ink.

Step 01

Browse

Explore 300+ inks, filter by brand, colour, or price tier. Read honest tasting notes for every single one.

Step 02

Choose

Add as many samples as you like to your basket. No minimum order. Mix brands, mix colours - go wild.

Step 03

We Fill Fresh

Every vial is hand-filled to order, labelled with the ink name and brand, and sealed securely. Never pre-filled, never sitting on a shelf.

Step 04

It Arrives

Packed in a padded envelope and sent via Royal Mail tracked. Through your letterbox in 1–3 days.

Stop Wasting Money
on Bottles You Don't Love.

Every ink lover has a shelf of bottles they bought on a recommendation, a review, or a swatch - and regretted. The colour was off. The shading wasn't there. The flow didn't suit your nib. It happens to all of us.

A 2ml sample costs a fraction of the full bottle and gives you enough ink to fill your pen and genuinely try it. That's the whole idea.

💰

Save Money

A sample costs £1.75–£3.00. A bottle is £10–£35. Try before you buy.

🎨

Discover Shading

Swatches don't show shading or sheen. Real ink on real paper does.

📄

Test on Your Paper

Ink behaves differently on different paper. Try it on yours before committing.

Try the Pricey Ones

2ml, Fresh, and Ready to Write

Every sample arrives in a 2ml plastic vial - enough to fill most standard converters at least once, giving you a real chance to test the ink in actual use rather than just a quick dab on paper.

Each vial is filled by hand from the source bottle on the day your order is packed. We don't store pre-filled vials. Your ink is fresh every time.

Honest, Bottle-Based Pricing

Every ink is priced individually on what its full bottle costs us - so a £9 bottle of Diamine is never charged at the same rate as a £35 bottle of Pilot Iroshizuku. You only ever pay for what's in the vial.
